[NEWS] Flower Boy Band: Shut Up to be Distributed in Japan

tvN’s drama,  Flower Boy Band: Shut Up  and its flower boys are coming to the home screens of Japan. 

According to a representative from the contents sales team of CJ E&M, “We sold the distributing rights [for the drama] to Japan’s famous distributor, CCC, for the highest all-time record deal for a cable drama so far. Through this contract Japanese viewers will be able to meet the flower boys of the Eye Candy band.”

A CCC representative added, “The fresh and original idea behind the music and youthful romance story as well as the members of the band are drawing strong interest,” explaining the reasons behind the selection of Flower Boy Band: Shut Up

The entry of  Flower Boy Band: Shut Up  into Japan, alongside I Need a Romance, Vampire Prosecutor and Ten, is raising the prospect of cable drama’s influence in the current hallyu boom as well. The strategy to create dramas with their clear and original special characteristics is receiving favorable responses, not just in Korea, but overseas as well for tvN, OCN and the dramas of the other cable channels of CJ E&M.

Flower Boy Band: Shut Up tells the tale of flower boys in high school who form the rock band Eye Candy to create a youthful romance drama centered around the zeal for youthful ambitions, friendship, love and music.
